Dating Cards at the Post Office

Quick Answer

Mossport's post office sells three kinds of relationship card: cards to ask someone out, cards to go steady and cards to break up.

Mossport's post office sells three kinds of relationship card: cards to ask someone out, cards to go steady and cards to break up. Choose the intention before the illustration. The shop includes classic stationery and rotating seasonal designs, but a different-looking card does not replace the relationship stage it belongs to.

Cards give you a way to express a decision. The relationship itself develops through time together, gifts, conversations and dates.

Choose the category for the change you want

The revealed post-office interface separates the three intentions rather than offering one generic love letter for every occasion.

Card categoryIts purposeWhat makes it a separate decision
Dating cardAsk a covenmate outYou are proposing an outing
Going-steady cardExpress commitment in a developing romanceIt follows successful courtship and opens relationship privileges
Breakup cardEnd the romantic relationshipIt communicates a different intention from starting or deepening a romance

That distinction is useful when you enter the shop: decide whether you want a date, a commitment or an ending, then browse within the matching category.

The shown dating designs share a category; the other tabs change the relationship intention.

Match the invitation to the person's readiness

There are eleven dateable covenmates, and they do not all become ready to date at the same point. Their readiness depends on what is happening in their personal story. A shy character may take longer to open up than an outgoing one.

Getting to know a covenmate is therefore part of the process before an invitation. Their dialogue changes with the time, weather, location and events in their life, rather than consisting only of a repeated greeting. Regular contact gives you opportunities to follow that development.

The available explanation does not turn a particular card design into a way to bypass someone's readiness. A card communicates your feelings; it is not an announced universal unlock item that guarantees acceptance from any candidate at any time.

After the dating card, plan two activities

An invitation leads into a more involved outing. You choose two different activities and travel around Mossport with your companion.

Over 200 contextual chatter spots can prompt comments on what you encounter along the way. A companion may hint that they would like to stop somewhere or make it clear that an activity would not suit them. The journey is therefore part of learning how to plan the date, not simply travel between two menu choices.

The official examples include a jewellery shop, the college's romantic bridge and seaweed on the beach. They are places to discover a reaction, rather than three universally successful date choices.

At the end, take your companion home. The game makes a successful or disappointing result apparent there. A good outing can lead to more dates and further relationship development; buying the card is only the opening action.

Use a going-steady card for commitment

The going-steady stage follows gifts, fun dates and regular contact. Its announced privileges include sleepovers, making it a more significant relationship step than asking for another outing.

This also matters in multiplayer. Players can pursue the same covenmate until someone goes steady, and the TGS interview describes one committed partner for a romance candidate. Sending a date invitation should not be confused with reaching that commitment point.

Going steady has not been established as another name for marriage. Sleepovers confirm a privilege of that relationship stage; they do not establish a wedding or a shared household system.

Seasonal stationery changes the presentation

The post office carries standard cards alongside a rotating seasonal selection. The examples include a springtime tulip card and a jack-o-lantern breakup card.

The closer interface coverage shows more examples within those categories:

CategoryDesigns visible in the covered interface
DatingReindeer, gingerbread, crab, campfire and googly eyes
Going steadyBursting heart, invitation, limerick, hands and My Everyday
BreakupFruitcake, termination letter, space and gradient

These are examples from the shown selection, not a complete year-round stock list. The preview also lets the player inspect the card's illustration and message before choosing.

That gives the same intention different visual styles. The seasonal illustration does not have a disclosed affection multiplier, and the current material does not provide a recipient-by-recipient list of preferred stationery. Choose the correct category without treating an attractive design as proof of a better mechanical outcome.

The breakup category is demonstrated with Pip. That example shows that ending a romance is an action the game supports. Its individual response should not be taken as a complete account of every covenmate's reaction.

Friendship does not require a relationship card

You can progress each covenmate's personal story through friendship. Cards are useful when you want to ask someone out or change the romantic relationship, rather than a mandatory purchase for learning every character's backstory.

That lets you take time to know the person before choosing a romantic direction. If you prefer the relationship as a friendship, the disclosed story system supports that choice without requiring a date first.
