To choose Witchbrook for Nintendo Switch 2, open the dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 product and check that its version is Nintendo Switch 2 and its edition is Digital. That product is scheduled for January 28, 2027. It is separate from the original Nintendo Switch listing.
Use Witchbrook for Nintendo Switch 2 as the starting point. The link is for Nintendo's US store, so the offer shown for your account and country still matters when purchasing.
Confirm the product before paying
The title artwork alone cannot distinguish the two Nintendo versions. Check the product fields in order:
- Version and system: Nintendo Switch 2.
- Edition: Digital, if you want the currently listed download.
- Release date: January 28, 2027.
- Region and currency: the storefront offer appropriate to your account.
- Price and purchase availability: whatever the live product offers at the time you buy.
The game's announced US digital launch price is $24.99. Use the actual Nintendo offer for the final regional purchase decision rather than replacing it with a converted currency amount or a third-party placeholder.
Keep the original Switch listing separate
The original Nintendo Switch product has its own version label. Its compatibility information for running that product on Switch 2 is currently Untested.
That label concerns compatibility of the older-system product. It does not cancel the dedicated Switch 2 release. Conversely, the existence of the dedicated version does not announce a free upgrade, ownership of both versions or transfer of a save from one product to the other.
For someone buying specifically for Switch 2, the dedicated product is the unambiguous listing to inspect. If you are considering buying the original version first and changing later, an upgrade or transfer arrangement is a separate detail that still needs confirmation.
Check the play arrangement you need
| Switch 2 product field | Listed detail |
|---|---|
| Play modes | TV, tabletop and handheld |
| Players on one system | 1 |
| Online players | 1–4 |
| Estimated game size | 1.2 GB |
| Nintendo Switch Online features | Online Play and Save Data Cloud |
Online play requires Nintendo Switch Online membership, a Nintendo Account and internet access; Nintendo notes that it is not available in all countries. The four-player number is online, so additional controllers on one system do not create an advertised local group mode.
The additional cottages give online players personal spaces and gardens. This published map does not demonstrate crossplay or Switch 2 frame rates.
If you are buying with friends, establish their versions before deciding. Neither the online player count nor the Save Data Cloud label confirms Switch-to-Switch-2 multiplayer or cross-edition saves.
The store lists English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The 1.2 GB size is an estimate for this Nintendo product, rather than a measured final installation.
Decide whether you need digital or physical
The current product is Digital. Physical Standard and Collector's Editions have been announced for later than the initial digital launch, but the specific physical platforms and contents remain to be detailed.
If you want to start on the announced digital date, assess the dedicated digital offer. If a Switch 2 cartridge is the requirement, wait for the physical announcement to name the platform and format. No confirmed cartridge, game-key card, collector's contents or physical preorder should be inferred from this Digital page.
