Witchbrook is listed among the games coming on day one to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The game's announced release date is January 28, 2027. The older 2026 label on Xbox's day-one directory card should not replace that newer release announcement.
The practical distinction is between access to the game and permission to use console online multiplayer. A plan can supply the latter without including Witchbrook in its launch-day library.
Choose a plan by game access
Xbox's official day-one directory places Witchbrook under “Coming to Game Pass Ultimate and PC” and explains that day-one games are included with Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Its FAQ excludes Premium and Essential from day-one game access.

Premium's presence elsewhere on Xbox pages should not be used to move it into the first two rows. The day-one directory and the game's online requirements answer different questions.
Console online permission is a separate requirement
The Xbox Witchbrook product names Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It lists single-player, online co-op for two to four players and online multiplayer for two to four.
The product states that online multiplayer on console requires Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. This means that, if you buy the game separately and want console online play, one of those qualifying online-access plans matters. It does not mean Essential or Premium includes the game itself on January 28.
For PC Game Pass, use the PC access route. A PC-only plan should not be treated as console ownership, a Steam purchase or automatic access to every other platform version.
What the cooperative game is offering
The announced online world supports up to four players in total. Friends can combine efforts in their witch business, with activities such as crafting goods and making deliveries, while retaining personal cottage and garden spaces.
The multiplayer cottage layout shows the personal spaces available in the announced online game. It does not specify subscription tiers or cross-platform connectivity.
If you are subscribing to play with someone, their exact version remains relevant. Xbox cross-platform and cross-generation labels do not supply a complete Steam, Nintendo and PlayStation connection table. Sharing a subscription category is not itself a crossplay confirmation.
Understand how library access lasts
Xbox explains that subscription-library access lasts while your subscription remains active and the game remains in the applicable library. Availability can change over time and varies with region, plan and platform.
That makes a library plan different from an outright game purchase. You do not receive Steam ownership because you can access a PC game through Game Pass, and a day-one listing does not turn the game into a permanently free download.
Before the release, confirm that Witchbrook still appears in the applicable library for your region and plan. Use the January 28, 2027 release announcement for the date rather than interpreting the outdated 2026 card as a second release schedule.
Day one does not establish a preload or cloud route
An Install label or an Xbox app entry can appear before the full game is playable. Neither establishes that the release has happened, that a public demo is available or that a complete preload process has been announced.
The day-one category also does not, by itself, confirm Witchbrook-specific cloud-streaming availability on a phone, browser or particular device. Check that game's actual supported route when it is offered rather than treating the broad Game Pass marketing language as a tested cloud configuration.
